100 Days of Code Challenge | #100daysofcode

DAY 1: For the next 100 Days, I will be taking the #100daysofcode Challenge where I make an effort to code consistently for 100 days, while documenting as I go. So the next 100 days will be dedicated to mastering the many aspects of iOS (iPhone) development as well as becoming an expert in the technology/app world. Creating mobile apps isn’t necessarily new for me. I’ve been creating mobile apps for small business for a few years, but I realize there’s a lot more to learn if I going to take my app development to higher levels. So this challenge will actually serve as a learning experience for me. Last time I challenged myself, I came up with my first mobile game, Bars Hip Hop Trivia. Let’s see what I can come up with this time!

I’ll be concentrating on three key areas:

1. UI Design – User interface (UI) design is the design of user interfaces for software or machines, such as the look of a mobile app, with a focus on ease of use and pleasurability for the user. Having a design background, this is probably the area that I’m looking forward to the most. I believe that understanding the principles of mobile app design is just as important as the programming and development.

2. Development and Coding Languages (Apple’s Swift programming language)  – Swift is a powerful and intuitive programming language for macOS, iOS, watchOS and tvOS. Writing Swift code is interactive and fun, the syntax is concise yet expressive, and Swift includes modern features developers love. Swift code is safe by design, yet also produces software that runs lightning-fast.

3. Mobile Marketing & ASO – App store optimization (ASO) is the process of improving the visibility of a mobile app  in an app store. So think Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for the App Store. So at the end of it all, I plan to have an full app build that is ready to launch…so I’ll need to know how to market it. And like SEO, there’s a science to ASO as well.

I plan to spend a few weeks on each area, so if app development interest you, I invite you to Follow my Instagram and keep an eye on my Stories, and definitely subscribe to the YouTube channel…or better yet, join the movement and start coding with us! #100daysofcode
